Bleasdale Pinot Gris.gif

Just in - this has made Halliday's Top 100 Wines of 2015!

A lovely straw green in colour with aromas of crisp pear, lychee and a touch of ginger. 6 week fermenting of 20% of the fruit in French oak provides a creaminess on the palate, with nashi pear and nutty flavours leading into a balanced, zesty finish.

The past few vintages have received very strong reviews and this year's is no different. A versatile wine that will pair well with most cuisine, or is just as good on its own. Don't miss out at this price!

Awards and Accolades

Silver Medal: Royal Queensland Wine Show 2015 - 2015 Pinot Gris category.

94 Points - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion
"Hand-picked, whole bunch-pressed, part fermented in tank, part in used French puncheons. In the same class as its best predecessors, with a textural complexity seldom achieved outside Alsace, and a convincing display of nashi pear and crunchy green apples fresh from the tree."

Past Vintages

2014

94 Points - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion:
"Bright straw-green, no pinking; follows closely in the footsteps of the trophy winning '12, part barrel-fermented in used French puncheons, part in stainless steel; this approach adds both texture and flavour, with nashi pear and Meyer lemon fruit given a nutty/creamy mid-palate before citrussy acidity swings into action on the finish."

92 Points - Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front
"Adelaide Hills pinot gris. Excellent value. Sees some wild yeast (20%) and time in French oak. It’s fruit-filled but soft in the mouth. More complex than you might expect of a young pinot gris too. If I could click “like” on the glass, I would. Lemon, lime, nashi pear and spice flavours. Well above average quality. "

Winemaking:

Handpicked grapes are whole bunch pressed to tank for settling. 20% Wild yeast fermentation in seasoned oak puncheons to build texture and complexity. The remainder is fermented cool in stainless steel tanks to retain freshness & purity.
