42 Degrees South Pinot Noir 2016

42 Degrees South Pinot Noir.gif

Pinot Noir + Tassie = No Brainer. A spicy, red cherry scented number from the guys down at Frogmore Creek, driven by primarily red fruit with a slight hint of something tropical, it’s bright, fresh and has a medium weight and plush tannin structure that makes it the perfect partner to a good antipasto, but still has enough clout to take on more robust dishes. Basically this is your one-stop all purpose Pinot Noir. It’s the one I recommend to people whenever they come into the store and it’s the one everyone in the warehouse takes home when they just want excellent uncomplicated goodness. And it’s under 25$ a bottle. Bonus!

PAST ACCOLADES AND AWARDS:

TOP GOLD 96 points: Royal Melbourne Wine Awards 2013 Class - Pinot Noir 2010 and older.

Huon Hooke:
Vanilla, chocolate, surprisingly big wine for this label, with firm tannins and some alcohol warmth. A voluminous but slightly shapeless wine. Acid adds astringency.
