Winemakers Notes "Many years of experience has taught me that great wines don’t just happen in the bottle. While they may soften with age and develop additional complexity, they have to be great from the moment they are made. This ultra-premium, full bodied red was made from an outstanding small parcel of old-vine, low yielding fruit. It captures the brilliance of Coonawarra cabernet sauvignon and uses a combination of new and older French oak to build structure and presence."
Colour Crimson, almost black
Nose Plums and berry fruits come to the fore, but beneath those are aromas of mint, black olives, cedar, dark chocolate and toasty, charred oak.
Palate This is a firm full-bodied dry red, with blackberry and stalky varietal cabernet characters integrated beautifully with sweet vanillin oak. This perception of sweetness us balanced by soft tannins that provide great length and richness.
