Pertaringa Two Gentlemens Grenache 2007 |

Passionate people who make and grow the very best grapes possible don't always get on well with bank managers and accountants who want returns and NOW! But, those good mates Geoff Hardy and Mr Ian Leask Esq have pooled tractors , experience and heartache to provide this wonderfully luxuriant wine abundant in richness and length and has been an outstanding success.
Winery Tasting Note Bright ruby in colour, it reveals luscious red fruits including cherries, strawberries and raspberries with delicate nuances of earthiness on the nose. The palate continues with these bright red fruit aromas, but underscored is a fine sensation of white peppery spice. This elegant and medium-bodied style with almost Pinot Noir like characters is immediately enjoyable as the tannin structure is soft. For all we know, this is one of the icon varieties grown in the McLaren Vale district and deservingly should receive a much bigger following - good for the ones who know!
So, here is a testament to a very valuable grape that will convince you of its place as a truly smart drink with food and family everyday, and for your family tomorrow.
World-renowned wine authority and Master of Wine Jancis Robinson, rated this wine 16.5/20, and compared it favourably against some iconic Australian Grenaches that are up to seven times the price.
In his sumamry he said: 'Very sweet and rich but very seductive too. Lovely round stuff with a hint of dried grasses. Racy. You'd be happy to find this in Chateauneuf though it may not live as long as the best Rhone reds. Good stuff though!'
