  Bonacchi Chianti DOCG Riserva 2011

Bonacchi Chianti DOCG Riserva.gif

The Chianti region of Tuscany is considered one of the most beautiful, and considering how the rest of the Tuscan countryside looks that’s setting the standard pretty high. Situated between Florence and Siena it is known for producing one of the worlds most drinkable, yet sometimes most misrepresented wines (I blame the ubiquitous 70’s Italian Restaurant bottle-in-basket combo, it did a number on red checked table cloths too…)

The Bonacchi Chianti DOCG 'Riserva' is made from carefully selected fruit and aged in oak barrels for at least two years. The result is ruby red in colour, with a lingering nose of bright fruit, spices and fine oak. Flavours of cherries and dry smooth tannins dominate the palate.

Drink with: Anything and everything.

Located in the Chianti heartland, Bonacchi have been growing, making and marketing quality Tuscan wines for three generations. Bonacchi uses estate-grown fruit from across the region: Montalbano; Castelnuovo Berardenga; Montalcino and Seggiano, and utilises their modern Montalbano winery and techniques to produce this premium range.

It is the Chianti Riserva that Bonacchi pride themselves on, adhering to the DOCG ruling that a 'Riserva' must be aged for at least two years in barrel and at least three months in bottle prior to release.
