The Dal Zotto have a proud Italian heritage and patriarch Otto had a vision to re-create the wines of his beloved place of origin and chose the King Valley. There’s a fair few Italians doing their thing in this Alpine region and the Italian varietals are prospering. Take this Barbera for instance, its full of savoury flavours of roasted meats, fennel seeds and anise before sharp acids cut through the gentle tannins. It would pair perfectly with Italian inspired stews and braises.
Past Accolades and Awards:
James Halliday: 93 Good colour, with slightly spicy and distinct mineral complexity; high levels of acid, but with fairly tame tannins; the palate is very long, fine and quite poised on the finish.
