A refreshingly light blend of Italian favourites Sangiovese, Barbera and Marzemino, this easy drinking King Valley rose ticks all the boxes! A mix of strawberry and red berry aromas on the nose, the palate is relatively dry and vey refreshing. The finish is crisp with good acidity. As with previous vintages, this wine doesn't try to be fancy, it's a straightforward good drink.
Although ready to be enjoyed right away, this will drink well for the next 2-3 years. Pair it with stuffed peppers or tomato-based pasta dishes.
Awards and Accolades:
2014: 92 Points - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion "Made with sangiovese and tempranillo. Dry and savoury with juicy flavour and drying tannin. Everything you would expect of a rose made with these varieties; it's not merely the power of suggestion. Plays to food more than it does to the crowd."
