Another great shiraz from one of Coonawarra's most consistent wineries.
A deep crimson red in colour, this great example of a medium bodied, silky shiraz shows aromas of blackberry and spice on the nose. The palate offers rich berry flavours well integrated with anise and spice. After 19 month maturation in French oak, tannins are soft and supple.
This vintage experienced lower than average rainfall, with an extended ripening period lasting into May. This wine will continue to evolve and improve with careful cellaring and decanting.
"95 Points. Matured for 19 months in big-name French coopered barrels (68% new). Consistently one of the more opulent Coonawarra shirazs, not only due to the amount of high quality oak, but (necessarily) also the depth of the black fruits and ripe tannins." - James Halliday, The Wine Companion
