Berry’s Bridge specialises in a very limited production of premium wines, which have even earned the attention of respected US wine critic Robert Parker. With a Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot the only wines in the range, the focus here is on hand-crafted, single vineyard wines, which come from vines that date back to the 1860s when George Berry started his vineyard and orchard. The handpicked fruit is made in small batch open fermenters and all basket-pressed. Long-time winemaker Jane Holt is at the helm with viticulturist Roger Milner. This duo has been working together for a very long time to perfect these outstanding red wines.
15.5% Alc/Vol
“Has hit the sweet spot, with layers of robed flavours without undue extraction, and gets away
with the alcohol; the tannins and oak have good texture and balance.”
94 Points, James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion 2008.
“A fabulous offering from Berry’s Bridge ... An inky/ruby/purple color is followed by glorious
aromas of spring flowers, blackberry liqueur, creme de cassis, licorice, and camphor. Boasting
superb fruit as well as purity, full body, and elevated tannins lurking behind the cascade of fruit,
glycerin, and extract, it should drink beautifully over the next 12-15 years.”
95 Points. Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate #168.
