Small batch open-fermented, basket pressed and matured in French and American oak. Bitter black chocolate provides the framework for the bouquet and intense palate alike; it has an edgy/earthy character that needs to, and will, back off and soften with time in bottle.

Matthew and David Lloyd are the principals behind the Lloyd Brothers Wine and Olive Company. Being third generation McLaren Vale grape growers has meant that they have an inherent love and respect for their environment, with a true passion for growing premium fruit and creating fine wines. Their 60 acre Estate and Winery lies in the heart of the famous McLaren Vale wine region, with views overlooking the southern slopes of the Mount Lofty Rangers extending to touch the Gulf St Vincent. The Lloyd Brothers primary focus has been on the Rhone varieties that the Estate grows, Shiraz, bush vine Grenache and Mataro. However in more recent times to compliment the Brothers’ Rhone range of wines, they have expanded their vineyard holdings to include a cool climate vineyard within the Adelaide Hills. This property provides the ideal environment to grow the Lloyd Brothers cool climate Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Shiraz. The desire to allow the vineyard and its environment to truly express itself, is the cornerstone of Lloyd Brothers’ philosophy.
