The mid weight palate shows sweet fruit, soft round tannins and crisp balanced acidity. The finish is long and dry. It is very enjoyable to drink.
The grapes were mechanically harvested and crushed in the field. Carefully monitored fermentation, using specially selected yeast, was carried out in open concrete and stainless steel fermenters. The wine was matured in American and French oak barrels for fourteen months prior to bottling.

Gen XY Wines: 4.5/5 Stars (2012) (GXY) Tasting: Aug 2014, floral and essency blackberry pastille and raspberry with white pepper, sage and rose petals, juicy and medium bodied with toasty coconut/vanilla US oak and loose knit grainy tannin
Jeremy Oliver: 91 (2010) Lifted by scents of red and blue flowers, with a faintly meaty, confiture-like fragrance of juicy redcurrants, raspberries and sweet, spicy oak preceding a medium to full-bodied palate. Backed by fresh vanilla/cedary oak and nuances of dried herbs and supported by fine, but rather gritty tannins, it's ripe and smooth, moderately long and concentrated. It just needs some time to settle.
