Brand new vintage from this beautiful heritage stock from Seppelt has arrived! Brand new 2013 vintage has had critics raving nationwide and this Shiraz is a stupendous example of why!

Seppelt is a bit like Ned Kelly, an Aussie household icon. For generations now it's been a welcomed guest at dinner parties, its proven itself amongst the big guns at BBQ's and again and again when you have stood looking bewildered at the walls of wine in bottle shops, it's familiar bottle has been like a long lost friend in a foreign country. The Foundation Range Shiraz is the core of the Seppelt range, it is consistent, unflawed and always rewarding. With a true garnet colour in the glass, the nose is met with a radiant spice lift, bright and floral aroma. Great spice and texture, medium body, bright and fresh with generosity and structure working harmoniously. Showing great length and is detailed in its complexity. A wine showing the hallmarks of a fine vintage in Victoria. A master of disguises, Seppelt's Shiraz is a joyful ball of fresh and engaging fun in its youth. It is a lush fruit bomb that with time will mature into a sleek and elegant option that will continue to blossom over the next decade

Accolades and Awards:

Campbell Mattinson: 93+ (2012)
Seppelt Chalambar Shiraz is a popular favourite, and rightly so. Finding the lowest price for it each year, too, is a sport and a pastime worthy of my beloved James Salter. I was surprised by the rich sweetness here. There's nothing streaky or herbal about this release or even overtly spicy. It feels solidly central Victorian. Blueberries, black cherries, blackberries. Yes there's some earth and ground spice, in attractive measure, but ripe dark fruits are the main order of the day. Smoky, toasty oak lends a hand, without intruding. This will be better in a couple of years but it's certainly enjoyable now. I'd reckon this will prove to be a top-notch Chalambar.

James Halliday: 96 (2012)
A wine label with a great heritage, and fulfils its birthright in every detail of the stylish bouquet and palate; black fruits, spice and black pepper enliven the long, medium-bodied palate, opening additional doors across its length and aftertaste; the tannin structure and oak are exemplary.
