Step Rd Chardonnay 2006 |
| |
|
|
The 2006 Step Rd is with out doubt in the class of really wonderful complex premium Chardonnay produced from the wonderful region of Padthaway in South Australia where ultra premium CHardonnay and Shiraz fruit abounds and will in future see regionality blossom! From the first pour the wine captures the eye with brilliant mid green hues and a faint lustrous golden edge. The nose suggests peach and other stone fruits with hints of pineapple and tart green apples, whilst the palate offers up melon and , cashew nuts some snippets of racy pineapple fruit salad with a very long, lingering flavour & satisfying mouth feel.
My Goodness it's GOOD! French wine at $50.00 has trouble catching this Gem!
13% Alc/Vol
The consensus from our staff tasting session was that this was a quality wine for its price point, and would suit anyone who likes an nicely medium oaky Chardonnay with sound lashings of mandarin, lychee and cut grass. Tasters: BK, TE.
