Kirrihill Single Vineyard Riesling 2010 |

In the glass the wine is reminiscent of pale straw with tinges of green; a gentle swirl reveals aromas of lime, lemon and blossom on the nose. The palate will reward those with a penchant for an elegant and refined Riesling; on the palate lime juice and lemon zest are complemented by mineral and slate characters. As is expected of this style, the finish is crisp and fresh with great length of flavour.
The grapes were harvested in the cool of the night by machine. They were then crushed, destemmed and chilled prior to a gentle pressing. The free run juice was cool-fermented and the wine was racked and stabilised prior to a light filtration and bottling. This was completed as quickly as possible in order to retain the Riesling grape’s characteristic crispness and elegance.
The Stanway family’s "Slate Creek Vineyard" at Watervale. The vines were planted in the 1970s in a north-east south-west orientation on deep, red clay loam over limestone soils with pockets of slate at 350 metres above sea level.
