"One parcel of the grapes comes from the best estate block, the other from Whitlands, hand-picked bunches are stored at 6 degrees C for 2 days, pressed, only free-run juice fermented, 50% in tank with cultured yeast, 50% in used French oak with wild yeast, matured for 5 months with stirring. The resulting wine is of high quality (not an oxymoron) and will age with grace thanks to its texture, structure and tight pear/apple flavours and (finally) its acidity."

"Cracking example of pinot grigio. From the King Valley’s premier producer.
For starters, it’s in the true grigio style. The flavours have a crunch to them, it’s unafraid of acidity, and it crackles out through the finish with assorted spice and pebble-like characters. Between times it’s all green/red apple and dry pear, appropriately measured. Unlike a lot of grigio going around, it doesn’t try too hard. It gets on with things."

From the Winery

This is one of our favourite wines. It's the colour of pale straw in the glass and the nose offers up an abundance of wildflowers, quince and ripe, yellow pear; really vibrant and enticing. The palate's quite crisp, tangy and taut, showing Nashi pear and quince flavour with a drizzle of lime. It has bright acid crunch right the way through.

The King Valley wine region is located in Victoria's north east – about three hours north of Melbourne and seven hours south of Sydney. One of the most picturesque and unspoilt valley’s in Australia, the region is home to beautiful sites such as Paradise Falls, Powers Lookout, Mount Cobla and Lake William Hovell as well as fantastic places to eat and drink including the renowned Mountainview Hotel, Milawa Cheese Factory and the King River Cafe.
