Aramis White Label Riesling 2011 |
| |
|
|
The cool climate Eden Valley is internationally renowned for it's production of crisp, elegant whites, and for Aramis the perfect location to make their first ever Riesling. The fruit for this wine has been carefully sourced from a handful of premium growers across the region, ensuring that the wine itself is beautifully balanced, maintaining the purity and finesse of it's heritage.
After being gently pressed, fruit is fermented slowly at low temperature to ensure that the full spectrum of aromatics is retained. The wine was fined and lightly filtered prior to bottling. It will continue to develop beautifully over the next 5 years.
The heavy rainfall leading up to vintage created challenging conditions for growers and winemakers across the region. A considerable amount of fruit was lost, causing significant decrease in overall volume. However it is commonly considered that the small parcels of grapes that did make the grade are as good , if not better, than many of the renowned vintages of the last decade.
Aramis first ever White Label Riesling has delighted with it's graceful character. Fresh and fragrant, it bears the hallmark elegance of it's cool climate Eden Valley heritage. Crisp citrus flavours are balanced beautifully by hints of tropical fruit and delicate floral notes, creating a Riesling that is zesty on the palate and tantalisingly lingering on the finish.
