One of the Clare valley's iconic riesling producers, this displays all the qualities that has made the region synonymous with top drawer riesling.
Light straw in colour with pale green hues. The nose is driven by lively citrus; lime and lemon abound whilst faint hints of tropical fruit give way to mineral notes. Light in body, the palate is crisp with green apple highlights. A lovely balanced acidity gives this wine great length and a crisp finish.
As with many past vintages, cellaring potential is up to 10 years...if you can wait that long!
Awards and Accolades
Wine of the year - ★★★★ ½ - Winestate Magazine
2014 Vintage: 95 Points - Campbell Mattinson, Australian Wine Companion "Touch of class. Piercing and lime-riven but ribbed with slatey complexity. Burst of spice and lime rind to the aftertaste. Dry. Long."
GOLD - Class 5 Riesling 2014 Vintage, Royal Adelaide Wine Show 2014 GOLD - Small Wine Makers Show 2014
2013 Vintage: 97 Points - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion "Right in the heart of the Antonia style, intense, slow developing, perfectly balanced, and of great length. Quartz-white, its bouquet is a mix of lime and apple, the palate of utmost clarity and purity, the flavours of as yet unsweetened lime, the acidity guaranteeing a long life."
From the Winery
2015 Vintage was almost certainly the earliest and shortest on record, both yields and quality have been above average in most circumstances. A dry and mild spring lead into a mild early summer and it wasn't until February that 'normal' summer conditions really emerged. A very welcome 75mm of rain was received in the second week of January, and this certainly assisted in filling out berry size and maintaining good canopy and leaf condition which in turn really helped bring the vintage to a better-than-expected conclusion.
