Argento Tarquino Sauvignon Blanc 2008 |
| |
|
|
Argentinean Sauvignon Blancs are renowned for bringing a more fruity complexity to the varietal than their New Zealand cousins, and this Tarqiuno is a perfect example of that. With strident characters of fresh cut grass on the nose and ripe grapefruit, peach and citrus on the palate, this wine offers a genuine clip around the ears for the NZ faithful. The finish is crisp and clean, with a bright, vibrant acidity - perfect with salads and fish.
And check out that label! If you live in, or have ever been to Mooball in far northern NSW, this is the wine for you.
A delicious, grassy aroma that reminds you what Sauvignon Blanc was all about before the Marlborough behemoth took off. Hints of pineapple and guava too. Racy acidity fill your mouth, with more pineapple and some tantalising kiwifruit flavours and a finish that just goes on and on thanks to that wonderful acidity. Maravilloso! (taster - MM)
