Now here is a vintage stunner! The Marlborough 2010 vinatge is jaw droppingly brilliant, if I do say so myself! A brilliant blend of two vineyards to extract evry once of smashing varietal strength you could ask for. The same producer has reaped the best of this vintage to make a brilliant, elegant & stylish quality Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc that we offer you here ladies and gentlemen. What a little bottler indeed!
I cannot tell you the winery in question here as I have promised to remain Shtum! But as always, I cannot believe the premium quality fruit that is the basis for this lip smacking, delicious and simply irresistible wine that goes on and on all day long.
Bright fresh aromatic notes to begin, stimulating your senses drawing you into that tantalising first sip. There follows a big hit of wonderfully vibrant, powerful and sublimely pungent gooseberries and passionfruit. This is a brilliant bouquet - fresh and vibrant aromatics with intense aromas of gooseberry, melon and capsicum.
This engaging wine provides a textural, mouth filling and full bodied palate - finely balanced with appealing fresh fruits and racy acidity; completed with great concentration, complexity and good length, rounding out with a clean crisp finish.
Be sure not to miss this amazing deal for another fantastic summer, or have it ready to pop when the next one rolls around. Stock up with as much as you can now! A very special price here for all in store purchases, or just have it delivered and drink like a champion.
New Zealand vintners are optimistic about the 2010 vintage, a relatively easy harvest with significantly lower yields.
Staff Tasting: The 2010 vintage is being talked about in hushed tones across the Tasman, and whilst it’s too early to tell just how good the reds are going to be, the hallmark Sauvignon Blancs have started to trickle out. And if this Marlborough SB is anything to go by, 2010 stands to be the stuff of legend.
Crisp citric nose with watermelon, honey, grass and passionfruit; a slightly drier palate than most of 2009’s crop but with all the trademark tropical fruits, lemon and lime and even a dash of kiwifruit. We tried this not long after it landed and already it was showing its colours. Given a little more time to rest we’ve no doubt this will be one of the best Sauvignon Blancs you’ll get hold of. The price is ridiculous. Tasters: BK, HK, TE, MM, LC.
