Forrest Estate Sauvignon Blanc 2010 |

|
The Forrest 2010 Sauvignon Blanc was drawn exclusively located around Renwick in the Wairau River Valley. Whilst all have their own character; they share in common Wairau River deposited gravelly, free draining and devigorating soil profile. Classical Marlborough terroir critical in achieving wine balance, small berries and low cropping levels to produce premium Sauvignon Blanc grapes. The stony nature of the soil also gives to the wine a mineral character; “wet stone” aroma. For Kiwis its a very evocative aroma of your childhood spent lying on wet stones after a swim in the river on a hot summer day!
Distinctive nose and taste of fresh herbs, lemon, thyme, guava, elderflower, box wood and a hint of passionfruit. The palate is full and textured, refreshing crisp, drying and taut with lingering minerally “wet stone” after tasting. Elegant subtle and sophisticated Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc that has been created to flourish with time; peak drinkability 3-5 years. For those of you who wisely cellar our 2006 it is simply drinking perfection.
