Giesen Estate Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2010 |

A big fish in the New Zealand market producing a very distinctive and inviting pale yellow Sauvignon Blanc like a warm clear start to a great day. The bouquet is as you would expect is lifted, fresh aromas of sweet gooseberry and dried cut grass with a distinctive Marlborough apealing herbal notes. The mouth tingling, explosive rush provides that classic nettle and gooseberry flavour combining with dry, citrus flavours on a racey medium bodied palate. Focused acidity provides length and a refreshing zest to the finish. You all know this wine is drink now, enjoy, smile beautifully and relax. Well, it won't dissapoint! Chin Chin!
Giesen’s range of vineyard locations (23 separate vineyards this year) not only provide a considerable flavour profile but also allow us to move around the valley harvesting fruit when it’s at its best. When blended these vineyards provide a distinctive style that displays both ripe, tropical fruit and the crisper, green and lively components that are characteristic of Marlborough. The juice is processed under anaerobic conditions and fermented relatively cool in stainless steel tanks to preserve the fresh vibrant fruit inherent to Sauvignon Blanc. The wine was blended, fined, stabilised then filtered before bottling under screwcap.
