Well, I have just visited the wonderful Ketu Bay and dredged for the famous scallops on the last day of the season and what a namesake for this sensational wine. We have done a massive deal to get hold of some really good stocks of this brand new vintage because you are going to be amazed and fall in love with the sensational quality and price of this wine. Enough to make the other guys cry!
A most brilliant, clear, pale straw green colour is enticing from the get go. Typical Marlborough Sauvignon aromas of grapefruit, passionfruit and ripe gooseberry with a hint of backbone wrapped up with an intriguing mouth lingering & lovable complexity.
The palate is exactlly what you would expect, with fresh aromatics, full of racy vigour. Flavours of passionfruit, gooseberry, melon and grapefruit are balanced by lime acidity and good fruit sweetness that rounds it out nicely. The palate is well structured and tapers to a very sessionable long, lingering finish. For hot days, quelling the cacophony of noisy children or simply sharing a conversation with your partner, this is a classic Marlborough statement that will not fail to bring a smile to your lips.
This is without doubt one of the best deals I have ever put together and trust you make good, while the going is good!
13.5% Alc/Vol
An absolute favourite at the staff tasting session with high marks all round and a chorus of How much can we get because it is going to sell like hot cakes!
Noted hints of grass, limey/lemon, passionfruit and gooseberry on the nose. The palate carried these flavours also, with lemon zest and a hint of sweetness present, which should settle nicely by mid January. An excellent Sauvignon Blanc and a big step up from the '08. Tasters: TE, MM, BK
