A passionately handcrafted wine made to demonstrate the Barossa regions capacity to produce wines with superb structure, lengthy dimensions, complexity and superb balance!
Here is wonderfully powerful Barossa Shiraz a fabulous example of this world renowned Terroir!
Fragrant, spicy brambly dark cherry notes are the bell ringing start as to why you'll buy this again and again. The dense palate is choc a block full of layered fruit that remains constrained and balanced showing lovely rich sweetness yet still condensed and complex, full flavoured and brooding for lack of your attention.
Your job is simply to order some and sit back and see if for this price you can stop drinking it for five seconds and cellar some for later on!
Go on, have a go! This wine strips a few high priced wines of value for money at $25-$55.00. Simply put , here is a wine that is refreshingly rich. ripe and enticing to anyone that drinks it whilst delivering way beyond its price point and seems a travesty to sell so cheaply. ( I think you can tell , I reackon it's a goodun!)
"Barossa Shiraz tends to be plush, like McLaren Vale, but is marginally more tannic, and a little more austere. This beauty smells of ironstone and earth, and dried fruits – fig, prune and pear – as much as the usual black and blue berries. Its palate is tight and stroppy, with that ironstone backbone dominating, and it demands bigger flavours on the plate than the more soulful, heartily generous Vales reds. So, true to traditional Barossa cuisine, this classic red will best accompany fattier meats, like pork belly, ribs off the grill or from the hotpot, and Peking or tea-smoked duck." - Philip White.
