The Principal Bendigo Shiraz 2008 |
| |
|
|
Grapes selected from a section of a single vineyard, renowned for producing quality, award winning Shiraz year after year have been chosen for The Principal Bendigo Shiraz. Everything here has been turned up a notch, from flavour to quality to winemaking.
Blackberries, plums, eucalypt, mocha, liquorice and lengthy tannins, all in spades but with the subtle conducting of one of Victoria's leading winemakers. The wine has a smooth, velvet texture that invites the company of blue cheese and roast duck, but is just as at home by the fireplace.
The fruit used to make this wine comes from an exceptional Estate vineyard at Bendigo where the first Shiraz vines were planted in 1969.
Traditional open fermenters as well as closed stainless steel fermentation tanks were used to ensure a full extraction of colour and tannins. The wine was then pressed to a combination of new and seasoned French and American oak where it was aged for 18 months prior to blending and bottling.
I trust you will enjoy and recommend to your best Friends only!
