"Straw-green; not a hair out of place with this excellent expression of Watervale, with mouthwatering lime/lemon juice flavours crosscut by acidity; a long and clean finish and aftertaste. Excellent value. Screwcap. 12.5% alc. Rating 94." - James Halliday.
"Excellent intensity. Direct, pure, strong lime juice-like flavour. It starts zesty and talc-like but then pushes pure, fruity, mouthwatering citrus juice through the mid-palate and beyond. It will age well but it will perform excellently this summer. You can chill this baby right down too; it’s got the intensity to carry the cold. Rated : 92 Points." - Campbell Mattinson, www.winefront.com.au
One of the most amazing areas for this varietal. The wine is the colour of pale straw, it exudes delightful aromas of grapefruit, lemon and citrus blossom. The palate is delicately structured, with fresh and intense fruit and a long, crisp acid finish. Delicious with a wide variety of foods, including seafood, chicken Caesar, and all warm or cold salads. A wine which exhibits both, true finesse at winecraft, and a quenching gluggability.
Situated in the cool uplands of the North Mount Lofty ranges about 50 km north of Adelaide, the vineyards of Jim Barry were established in Clare in 1959. This is a family run winery committed to producing quality wines through an innovative approach to viticulture and winemaking technology.
