Brokenwood Harlequin Chardonnay 2010 |
| |
|
|
This is an uwooded style made from Chardonnay sourced from premium wine growing regions. Showing vibrant yellow/green colours this fresh young Chardonnay exhibits a melange of tropical and stone fruit characters on the nose. A fresh, lively wine with rounded fruit flavours.
Oxidative handling resulting in low phenolics and ultimately greater complexity. A combination of pure yeast ferments, with small parcels of wild ferments.
Contrary to popular belief the sales of Chardonnay both here in Australia and overseas continues to grow. The ABC club (anything but Chardonnay) must be questioning its numbers. Perhaps it is now the AC/DC club, Always Chard/Decent Chard!! The increased desire of the industry to make better and more interesting Chardonnay has fuelled the sales. An early operatic figure, the Harlequin has come to represent fun and good times. This also explains it adoption by amateur Rugby and the dedication of Brokenwood owners to the Harlequin.
Harlequin is an ideal accompaniment for seafood dishes, white meats, pasta and risotto.
