A really nicely made elegant wine from one of the Big Boys for the export market and meant to really excite the European drinker into a frenzy at this price for this amazing quality.
The wine is crimson red with youthful purple hues. The nose is reminiscent of fresh blackberry and hints of liquorice with cracked pepper spice overtones. The palate is supple, rich and rounded with soft tannins providing a lingering fruity finish. This wine will reward all lovers of young, flavoursome new world reds. It is bright and elegant with a soft lingering finish. This wine has the potential to develop further in the bottle if carefully cellared, but we recommend you enjoy its youthful exuberance on release. As Goldilocks mentioned in passing ...."Just right!'
Sourced from a selection of Australian vineyards our winemaker has selected parcels of Shiraz fruit showing exceptional depth and intensity of flavour that without the aid of oak maturation will show exceptional flavour and drinkability. The grapes were harvested during the cool of night at optimum ripeness. After crushing and pressing, fermentation temperatures were allowed to reach 27-29°C before being carefully controlled at around 23-24°C in stainless steel vessels. The wine was then allowed to settle for 4 months before individual parcels were blended and bottled.
