This is a block buster Shiraz and one of my favourites from 2008 so far producing a powerful and complex Shiraz.
This 2008 reflects the conditions of a hot, dry vintage with a small crop with excellent colour and flavour. The wine is dark with a rich, ripe bouquet, displaying extravagant blackberry and anise aromas. The flavour is explosive with loads of ripe plums, coffee, vanilla, eucalyptus and licorice. Texture is big and chewy with high alcohol, oak and tannin. The finish is luscious and velvety with rich chocolaty characters lingering long after the wine has gone. It is just wonderful to be able to offer sumptuous wine like this at half price and well below normal retail price points. Delivered to your door , Why not indeed! And at least a decade of cellaring ahead!
