You are going to simply love this new entrant to our range of premium wines sourced from excellent regions around Australia and heralding the best those regions offer. This new wine is from beautiful Mclaren Vale in South Australia and what a ripper it is.
Vibrant dark bulls blood almost pulsing in the glass to the eye gets your anticipation levels pumping.
The aromatics are typical Mclaren Vale of lifted cassis black berry and hints of Oak alongside blending nicely like a great Jazz quartet. The first sip brings a landslide of flavour and length with yummy dark fruits bouncing along the palate with a sense of strength and vitality.
This goes so much further than simple sweet fruit and the marriage works well with nice fine tannins and Oak that seems to provide a solid formwork around the whole body. The overall enjoyment is a seamlessly worked wine , plenty of length, structure, fruit and oak to deal with most meals but also provide a nice little thought provoker, that even Tony Abbot should have a crack at now that Malcolm's back in the big house!
"This is a gamey, meaty Shiraz of the old school, its fruit swampy and funky, like many of the famous wines of the Mediterranean coast, which enjoys a similar maritime climate to McLaren Vale. It has much plush softness and mellow fruitfulness, with hints of old harness leather adding rustic allure to its well of stewed mulberry and blackberry. There’s a whiff of vegetal green, too, as if somebody garnished a fine blackberry tart with fresh blackberry leaf. The palate is smooth, supple and wholesome; the finish long and dry and velvety. The wine seems custom built for the gentler game dishes with low fat, like venison sausages, goat hotpot, hare confit, or rabbit rillette." - Philip White.
